Successful Moms of MSRE
With Mother’s Day approaching, Mark Spain Real Estate would like to celebrate all of the amazing moms that have dedicated so much in order to give their children the best of the best! This Sunday, and every other day, we honor their success both in and out of the workplace – we couldn’t live without mothers! We have asked a few of our outstanding moms at Mark Spain Real Estate to give some insight on how to balance a successful professional life while being a mom!
Katie Ciarochi:
Katie has been with Mark Spain Real Estate for almost three years now and is a hardworking, dedicated member of our Athens team! Assisting agents with paperwork, compliance, and maintaining ongoing communication with our clients, Katie never hesitates to lend a helping hand with a positive attitude.

“I have two beautiful daughters – about to turn 10 and 15. We live in Alpharetta, GA. We love hiking, going to the beach, exploring new places, and taking our dog Maisy to the dog park. We also love to do ‘international cooking’ nights. We each pick a new recipe from somewhere around the world. Each person is responsible for making theirs. It is so fun to try everyone’s choice”
What advice do you have for moms in the workplace to constantly grow and improve while being a great mom, too?
“Life is all about balance, right? Carve out time in your daily routine for what is important to you. Work hard and keep learning new things at your job, put the phone down, and be present when spending time with your family. Also, make time to take care of yourself. Quote I love by Bob Goff – Figure out what you would give your life for and you’ll know what to give your time to”
Lea Long:
Lea Long has been in the real estate industry for over 15 years, and after joining Mark Spain Real Estate in late 2020, she has surpassed her financial goals and built an awesome business in her first year! Lea joined us as an exclusive listing agent, and she is proud to have hit 50+ closings in her first 18 months. We are so grateful Lea found her way to MSRE and can’t wait to see her continue reaching her goals!

“I have 3 sons that all live nearby – Mat 29 is married, Nick 27 (my recent buyer client!), and Brandon 24. I’m a super proud mama! I also just had my first grandson Finn a few weeks ago and am excited to be able to help take care of him when his mom goes back to work in the fall. This is when I love my job because it gives me the opportunity to do that.”
What advice do you have for moms in the workplace to constantly grow and improve while being a great mom, too?
“Give yourself grace when you can’t do all things for everyone all the time – because you can’t! Superwoman isn’t real! Prioritize what you need to do for your business and give it your all during that time – don’t feel guilty about it and it’s OK to enjoy it too! Prioritize your family time too – and be present during that time, because they grow up too fast not to enjoy it – you will have plenty of time to work later! I am living it now – my kids are grown and off-payroll …so now I can be 110% focused on me, my business, and my future. However, you decide to prioritize your time, protect those time blocks, and don’t feel guilty about it. Note that I have mentioned “guilty” often because it’s our worst enemy as a working mom ….that somehow no matter what you do something or someone is suffering – just focus on what you have chosen to do at that moment and give it your all. Know that what you are doing professionally helps your family – it provides financial support and teaches them that moms can make a living too – which is important for kids to see. Constantly invest in yourself – whether it’s professionally or spiritually – and give yourself permission to recharge, relax and have fun so you don’t burn yourself out. Real estate always provided a great way for me to earn a great income and have the flexibility to be there for my family too. It takes great discipline to be successful being self-employed – but the rewards are worth it!”
Stella Whitaker:
Stella is a recently new member of our Marietta team at Mark Spain Real Estate since making the leap to joining the real estate industry full-time this year. Always wanting to make the switch, she is glad that she did, as it is an industry she loves! Stella is one of our exclusive listing consultants and we are honored to see her shine through her hard work!

“I’m a mother of two lovely daughters. One is 18 and is graduating from Hillgrove High this month, and is on her way to KSU to major in Marketing. We are so proud of her. My other daughter is 12 and plays tennis and volleyball. She’s our athlete in the family.”
What advice do you have for moms in the workplace to constantly grow and improve while being a great mom, too?
“The advice I have for moms in the workplace is to first find a job or career that you’re passionate about. It makes the hard times easier because at least you’re doing something you love. And when you’re happy, you bring that happiness home to your family. Always make time for family. The kids grow up fast, and I never want to have any regrets about not spending enough time with them or being there for them in their times of need. Work will always be there, but one day your babies will be grown-ups and no longer able to give you hugs on a daily basis!”
